The NYHS girls basketball team had an impressive season, finishing with a record of 9-6.
The team played in four playoff games; three Sea-Tac district games and one tri-district game. They defeated Concordia Christian Academy (53-11). Then Summit Classical Christian School (32-23). However, the team lost against Muckleshoot Tribal School (49-38) in their third playoff game.
Because of their success in the first two games, they earned a spot in the tri-district games where they lost 72-17 to Lummi Nation on February 10th. Their game against Lummi Nation was challenging from the start. However, “the game was still fun since we all played as a team and pushed until the last second”, said co-captain Paulina Gamel. The tri-district game against Lummi was a loser-out match and the end of the Lions season.
