The NYHS freshman class has 19 people, the most in years. But how does this class maximize their potential in high school? Here’s the seniors’ advice.
Sephi Alhadeff and Judah Varon both say to not procrastinate, don’t leave schoolwork to the last minute, and don’t be afraid to ask teachers for help. “Always turn in assignments on time and never wait till the last minute,” said Alhadeff.
Becca Benezra, Hannah Klinghoffer, and Jenna Kaufthal say to take all the opportunities the school gives you. “It’s a small school so I think that every opportunity you can benefit a lot from,” said Kaufthal.
Yasmin Jassen and Sara Miller say you should prioritize your mental health. “School matters, but so do you,” said Miller.
Finally, Rose Clayman says above all else, make your high school experience memorable. Join clubs, do sports, and attend “any out-of-school extracurriculars because that’s what I remember most from my high school experience.”
